Sponsorship-Program News

Dear friends of P.A.P.A.-Bridge,
the school-sponsorship program is now in operation since some years. We are very happy that we already found several nice people willing to sponsor the education of children in Kilema.
To date Karin Oswald was responsible for the sponsorship program and she really did a great job. For personal reasons Karin did abandon this occupation a few days ago and now the new responsible person for the school sponsorship program is happy to introduce herself:

Jambo!
It is a pleasure to introduce myself as the successor of Karin Oswald and new coordinator of the sponsorship program of P.A.P.A. Bridge on Austria’s side. My name is Claudia Schanes and I am from Sinabelkirchen. In addition to my profession as a teacher, I have been engaging with P.A.P.A. Bridge since 2015. The collaboration started when I first went to Tanzania with a tour group of Father Joseph Windisch in 2015. The following year, I spent three months working for the P.A.P.A. Bridge Vocational Training Center in pedagogical as well as general school matters. By getting to know the whole school community along with the principal Tobias
Makundi, the teachers and students etc., I could gain insights into the school life, which support my work as sponsorship coordinator. Thus, I can carry out the activity in a very devoted way, as I have already become acquainted with Mary Mchaki – the sponsorship coordinator in Kilema – as well as the circumstances of the school.
My aims to the sponsorship program are to be well-connected and up to date with Mary Mchaki and to inform the sponsors about the progress of their godchild. I look forward to performing the new function and I thank you for a good cooperation in advance.
Mungu akubariki! (God bless you!),
Claudia Schanes

We would be very thankful if you could help us to increase the awareness level about the sponsorship program in your circle of friends and family.
All the best and may God bless you,
– Walter Koch / Chairman P.A.P.A.-Bridge
– Claudia Schanes / Contactperson Sponsorship-program
– and the Board of the P.A.P.A..Bridge organization

Cookies for Tanzania!

On the 5th of April, we – the 4B of the High School Gleisdorf with our teacher Claudia Schanes – sold cookies in Gleisdorf to collect money for P.A.P.A. Bridge VTC Kilema. After the 4th lesson, we left the school to head to the market and built up the kiosk with the little plates of cookies we had already prepared the day before. We also walked around to sell our biscuits.

It wasn’t that easy, but we were able to collect €223.76 in just one and a half hour. Some working people in Tanzania get that much money in a year.

With just a little bit of time we helped a lot of people. We think it was totally worth it! So we believe we can do anything if we just want it and stay together!

Student readings and vernissage

On 5th of April, the Middle School Kalsdorf organized student readings and a vernissage. Kev. P. – winner of the speech contest 2016 – moderated the event. Students of all the four grades read self-written texts, such as modern fairytales, ballads in prose, crime stories and characterizations.

The elective subject MaMuTh of the 4th grades, the school choir, the 3a and 2a classes provided the musical framework. The highlight of the evening was the auction of selected pictures. In addition, a comprehensive buffet was served for the numerous guests. Moreover, many pictures, paintings and sculptures that had been produced in Arts lessons were for sale. The net proceeds is donated to the organization P.A.P.A. Bridge in Tanzania, which Father Joseph engages in.
